An Act relative to changing the name of the State-Boston Retirement System to the Boston Retirement system.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 32 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official edition, is herby amended by striking out, in lines 120 and 138, the words “State-Boston” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following word:- Boston.

SECTION 2. Section 2 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is herby amended by striking out, in line 125, the word “State-Boston” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- Boston.

SECTION3. Section 3 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is herby amended by striking out, in line 208, the words “State-Boston” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following word:- Boston.

SECTION 4. Section 4 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is herby amended by striking out, in lines 74, 96, 162, and 177 the words “State-Boston” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following word:- Boston.

SECTION 5. Section 5 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is herby amended by striking out, in lines 296 and 297, line 300, 302, 307, lines 310 and 311 and in line 344 the word “State-Boston” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- Boston.

SECTION 6. Section 22 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is herby amended by striking out, in line 10, lines 808 and 809, lines 842, 847, 850, and 851, the word “State-Boston” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following word:- Boston.

SECTION 7. Said section 22 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is herby amended by striking out, in line 807, the word “State-Boston” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following word:- Boston.

SECTION 8. Said section 22 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is herby amended by striking out, in lines 848 and 849, the words “State-Boston retirement board” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words:- Boston retirement system.

SECTION 9. Section 23 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is herby amended by striking out, in lines 2 and 3, and in lines 12 and 15, the word “State-Boston” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following word:- Boston.

SECTION 10. Section 91 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is herby amended by striking out, in lines 126, and in lines 131 and 132, the word “State-Boston” and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following word:- Boston.

SECTION 11. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the phrase “State-Boston retirement board” wherever it appears in a general or special law, shall mean the Boston retirement board.

SECTION 12. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the phrase “State-Boston retirement system” wherever it appears in a general or special law, shall mean the Boston retirement system.

SECTION 13. Any business formerly transacted under the names “State-Boston retirement system” “State--Boston retirement system” “State-Boston retirement board” and “Boston retirement Board” or any contracts entered into by the aforementioned, remains in full force and effect and is no way impacted by the administrative name change pursuant to this act.
