An Act relative to the Board of Health of the city of Chicopee.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 16 of chapter 239 of the acts of 1897, as amended by section 30 of chapter 512 of the acts of 2008, is hereby further amended by striking out the last sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:-

Elections to the board of health shall be so made that at least 1 member thereof shall be a licensed member of the medical profession, which may include, but shall not be limited to, a physician, nurse or physician’s assistant.

SECTION 2. Section 42 of said chapter 239, as amended by section 58 of said chapter 512, is hereby further amended by adding the following sentence:-

Said board shall have the same powers and duties vested in boards of health under the General Laws and such additional powers and duties as may be provided by ordinance.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
