An Act relative to education collaboratives.

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to increase the capacity of collaboratives, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Section 92 of chapter 71 of the General Laws, as amended by section 74 of chapter 68 of the acts of 2011, is hereby further amended by inserting after subsection (r) the following subsection:-

(s) For the purposes of this section, the board of directors of an education collaborative established under section 4E of chapter 40 shall be considered the local school committee and the executive director of an education collaborative shall be considered the superintendent; provided, however, that if there is no executive director of the education collaborative, the board of directors shall appoint an individual to be considered the superintendant.
