An Act relative to voter qualifications.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

“SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 55 of the General Laws, as so appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the first paragraph , the following paragraph:-

Section 1. Notwithstanding the first paragraph of this section, every citizen who is 17 years of age, who is otherwise qualified to be a voter within the meaning of this section, and who will attain the age of 18 by the time of the next general presidential election, may vote in a presidential preference primary, pursuant to sections 70A through 70H of chapter 53.  Such individuals may not vote in any other elections and are not to be considered voters for any other purpose.”
