In the Year Two Thousand Thirteen

An Act to improve campaign finance disclosure.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 18 of chapter 55 of the general laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the following words, in lines 6-7, “candidate is seeking the office of mayor in a municipality with a total” and inserting in place thereof:- municipality has a total
SECTION 2.
Said section 18 of chapter 55 of the general laws, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting, after the word “year”, in line 114, the following: and any candidates, and the non-elected political committees organized on behalf of such candidates, and political action committees, in a municipality with a total population, as determined by the most recent federal decennial census, of between 40,000 and 100,000 persons, that files with the director, shall file midyear reports on or before the twentieth day of July in each year that such municipality does not have an election.
SECTION 3.
Section 18C of chapter 55 of the general laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby further amended by striking out the following words, in lines 39-40, “for mayor”.
