An Act to ensure voter access.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Chapter 50 of the General Laws is hereby amended by interesting the following section:-

Section X.

(a)As used in this section the following words shall have the following meanings:-

“non- essential,” not necessary to address an immediate threat to public safety

“State election” shall apply to any election at which a national, state, or county officer or a regional district school committee member elected district-wide is to be chosen by the voters, whether for a full term or for the filling of a vacancy.

(b) On the day of a state election and on the day of a primary to select a nominee for a national, state, or county officer, any non-essential constructions or improvements to a public roadway that in any way impede, interrupt, obstruct, delay, or reroute the normal flow of traffic shall be prohibited.
