SECTION 1. Section 1 of Chapter 123B of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding after the definition of “person with an intellectual disability”, the following new definition:-
“Person with Prader-Willi Syndrome”, a person who has a verified diagnosis of Prader-Willi Syndrome, so called, a neurobehavioral genetic disorder, as diagnosed by a physician.”
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law to the contrary, the department of developmental services is hereby directed to promulgate regulations (115 CMR 1.00, et seq.) making a person with prader-willi syndrome, as defined in section 1 of chapter 123B of the General Laws, eligible for services and support from said department of developmental services.
