SECTION 1. Chapter 32A of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:-
Section 27. The commission shall provide to any active or retired employee of the commonwealth who is insured under the group insurance commission coverage for IV/IG treatments for such persons who have been diagnosed with neuromyelitis optica, also known as Devic’s disease.
SECTION 2. Chapter 175 of the General Laws is herby amended by inserting after section 47AA the following section:-
Section 47 BB. Any individual policy of accident and sickness insurance issued pursuant to this chapter shall provide coverage for the cost of IV/IG treatments for persons who have been diagnosed with neuromyelitis optica also known as Devic’s disease.
SECTION 3. Chapter 176A of the General Laws is herby amended by inserting the following section 8DD the following section:-
Section 8EE. Any contract between a subscriber and the corporation under an individual or group hospital service plan that is delivered, issued or renewed within or without the commonwealth shall provide coverage for the cost of IV/IG treatments for persons who have been diagnosed with neuromyelitis optica, also known as Devic’s disease.
SECTION 4. Chapter 176B of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 4DD the following section:-
Section 4EE. Any subscription certificate under and individual or group medical service agreement which is delivered, issued for delivery or renewed in the commonwealth, pursuant to this chapter, shall provide coverage for the cost of IV/IG treatments for persons who have been diagnosed with neuromyelitis optica, also known as Devic’s disease.
SECTION 5. Chapter 176G of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 4V the following section:-
Section 4U. A health maintenance contract shall provide coverage for the cost of IV/IG treatments for persons who have been diagnosed with neuromyelitis optica, also known as Devic’s disease.
