In the Year Two Thousand Thirteen

An Act relative to the payment of fees for the solemnizing marriages in a municipal building in the city of Lowell.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 1
"Not withstanding section 35 of chapter 262 of the General Laws, the total fee for lawfully solemnizing and certifying a marriage shall not exceed the fee limits as set forth in said section 35 of said chapter; provided, however, that where a municipal employee of the City of Lowell who is also a justice of the peace solemnizes a marriage in a municipal building during regular business hours, and fees for such services shall be paid directly to the city of Lowell."
Section 2
This act shall take effect upon its passage.
