An Act authorizing the town of Groton to provide for group insurance.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding chapters 32B and 150E of the General Laws, or any other general or special law, rule or regulation to the contrary, the town of Groton may: negotiate and purchase group insurance policies for employees, retirees and dependents, alter current and future group insurance plan design features, and participate in and join the group insurance commission of the commonwealth under chapter 32A of the General Laws; provided, however, that any such action shall not be subject to collective bargaining as defined in chapter 150E of the General Laws.
The provisions of this act shall not affect any obligation under any collective bargaining agreement to which the town of Groton is a party, while such agreements are in effect.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
