An Act relative to handicapped parking.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Chapter 40 of the general laws, as appearing in the 2008 official edition, is hereby amended by inserting, after section 22G a new section 22H, “No municipality shall charge a fee and no penalty shall be imposed for the parking of any vehicle owned and driven by a disabled veteran or by a handicapped person and bearing the distinctive number plates authorized by section 2 of chapter 90, or for any vehicle transporting a handicapped person and displaying the special parking identification plate authorized by section 2 of chapter 90, or for any vehicle bearing the official identification of a handicapped person issued by any other state or any Canadian providence parked at a municipally owned parking meter, on street, in a municipal parking lot, or within a municipally owned parking garage.”
