SECTION 1. The state secretary, acting on behalf of the commonwealth, may sell, transfer or license the Division of Corporations software and related documents pertaining to its web based searching and filing applications, including the business entity and uniform commercial code software, developed by the department of the secretary and copyrighted by it to other states, multi-state or regional associations or other sovereign governments on such terms and conditions as in his sole discretion reasonably compensates the commonwealth for its interests. The secretary may retain and expend revenues collected from such sales, licensure or user agreements in an amount not to exceed 10 % or $275,000, whichever is greater for technical activities of the corporations division, the remainder to be deposited in the General Fund. The secretary may provide webhosting, and ongoing support and maintenance to other states, provinces or territories of Canada relative to their UCC and corporate applications. The department of the state secretary may accept credit and debit cards from individuals and corporations filing documents with the division.
SECTION 2.This act shall take effect upon its passage.
