An Act concerning a study of the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority's cleaning staffing crews.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Office of the State Auditor shall conduct a review of the cleaning contracts entered into by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. The review shall include, but not be limited to, an assessment of consumer satisfaction with the condition of Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority stations, the effect that any reduction in cleaning personnel may have on ridership, public health, public safety, and on the working conditions for cleaning personnel. The review shall include a study of any independent analysis of MBTA cleaning operations and identify measures taken to ensure continued quality and continuity of service. The Office of the State Auditor shall submit a report to the house and senate committees on ways and means, the house and senate committees on transportation by December 31, 2014.
