Amendment #28 to H.3382

Inventory of Stamped Cigarette Sales

Mr. Nangle of Lowell move that the bill be amended in section 39, line 681, by striking the words “on August 1, 2013” and inserting in place thereof the words “at the time of enactment of this section”



and further moves to amend the same bill in the same section, in line 681, by inserting the word “stamped” before the word “cigarettes”



; and further moves to amend the same bill in the same section, in line 682, by striking the number “”20” and inserting in place the number “10”



and further moves to amend the same bill in the same section, in line 684, by inserting the word “stamped” before the word “cigarettes”



; and further moves to amend the same bill in the same section, in line 684, by inserting the word “stamped” before the word “cigarettes”



; and further moves to amend the same bill in the same section, in line 684, by inserting the word “unused or adhesive or meter” before the word “stamps”



; and further moves to amend the same bill in the same section, in line 684, after the word “stamps”, by inserting the following new words:- “as of the date of the enactment of this section. Every manufacturer, wholesaler, vending machine operator, unclassified acquirer or retailer, as defined in section 1 of chapter 64C of the General Laws, and every stamper appointed by the commissioner pursuant to section 30 of said chapter 64C, shall at the time of commencement of business on July 1, 2013, make and file with the commissioner within 20 days a return, subscribed and sworn to under the penalties of perjury, showing a complete inventory of stamped cigarettes and unused adhesive or meter stamps as of July 1, 2013,”



; and further moves to amend the same bill in the same section, in line 685, after the words “additional excise”, by inserting the following words:- “on any increase in stamped cigarettes and on any increase of unused adhesive or meter stamps over that inventory held on the date of enactment of this section, at the rate”



and further moves to amend the same bill in the same section, in line 685, by inserting the word “stamped” before the word “cigarettes”
