Immigration Detainee Transporting

Mr. Tarr moved that the bill be amended by inserting after section 3 the following new section:-

“SECTION__. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the executive office of public safety and security in conjunction with the executive office of administration and finance shall submit a report detailing the amount of revenue and expense to the commonwealth due to the transportation of immigration detainees by the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement division. Said report shall also examine how and whether any immigration detainees were released from federal custody into the commonwealth and whether the commonwealth has provided any immigration detainees with state benefits.

Said report shall be submitted to the clerks of the house and senate and the house and senate committee on ways and means no later than 60 days of passage of this act.
