In the Year Two Thousand Thirteen

An Act relative to the implementation date of a medical marijuana program.
Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to allow appropriate time for the creation of medical marijuana regulations, therefore, it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public safety.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 16 of Chapter 369 of the Acts of 2012 is hereby amended by striking the words “January 1, 2013” and inserting in place thereof the words “September 1, 2013.”
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
