Section 1.Notwithstanding any general or special law or regulation to the contrary licensed pharmacies, either within the Commonwealth, or other state jurisdictions, holding current accreditation from the Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board, may compound and distribute pharmaceutical mixtures pursuant to a valid order by a licensed practitioner, or licensed health care facility to meet the immediate needs of patients under the care of such providers. Such products shall be made available in quantities to meet the anticipated needs of patients to assure continuity and access for medications as identified by the health care provider or facility.
Notwithstanding, products provided in this manner shall not require traditional prescription labeling or patient-specific information, but shall be able to be validated within the pharmacy record keeping system, as to permit trailing and validation of such products as to standard practices required and validated during the pharmacy accreditation process.
