An Act relative to the practice of psychiatry.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 2 of chapter 112 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting at the end thereof the following new paragraph:-

Any physician licensed pursuant to this section who specializes in the practice of psychiatry shall, as a condition of granting or renewing the psychiatrist’s certificate of registration, apply to participate in the medical assistance program administered by the secretary of health and human services in accordance with chapter 118E and Title XIX of the Social Security Act and any federal demonstration or waiver relating to such medical assistance program.  The division may promulgate regulations under said chapter 118E to establish a caseload capacity for each individual, group or facility.
