In the Year Two Thousand Thirteen

An Act relative to fair fines to increase local revenue.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 9 of chapter 140 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting, in line 6, after the words “suspend or revoke his license” the following words:- “or impose a fine for the first offense within a six month period of not less than $500 and not more than $1,000, for the second offense within a six month period of not less than $1,000 and not more than $2,000, for the third offense within a six month period of not less than $2,000 and not more than $5,000, for the fourth offense within a six month period of not less than $5,000 and not more than $10,000, for the fifth offense within a six month period of not less than $10,000.”
