An Act to provide contract employees with health insurance and retirement benefits.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 3(1)(a) of Chapter 32 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, as amended by Section 176 of the Acts of 2011, is hereby amended by inserting after the words “in the performance of his duties” in clause (i) the following words:-

“or is employed as a contract employee.”

SECTION 2. Section 3(2) of Chapter 32 of the General Laws is amended by inserting the following words in clause (i) after the word “including”:-

“a contract employee or”

SECTION 3. Chapter 32A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following section:-

Section 27. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, contract employees shall be eligible for the insurance benefits under this chapter.

SECTION 4. Chapter 32B of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is amended by adding the following section:-

Section 30. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, contract employees shall be eligible for the insurance benefits under this chapter.
