In the Year Two Thousand Thirteen

An Act relative to the transfer of retirees to a Medicare health plan.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Subsection (a) of section 18A of chapter 32B of the General Laws as appearing in the most recent edition is hereby amended by striking the words “a Medicare health plan” and inserting the following:- “Medicare Part A, Part B, or a Medicare supplement health plan”
SECTION 2. Subsection (a) of said section 18A of said chapter 32B of the General Laws as appearing in the most recent edition is hereby amended in line 9 by inserting after the words “Medicare Part A” the following:- “,including but not limited to Part B,”
SECTION 3. Subsection (c) of said section 18A of chapter 32B of the General Laws as appearing in the most recent edition is hereby amended by inserting after the word “transfer” the following:- “including but not limited in the event that as provided in subsection (a), the retiree or spouse is no longer required to continue family coverage for a dependent in a plan other than a Medicare health plan offered by a governmental unit.”
