An Act relative to funeral and burial expenses.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 41 of the General Laws is hereby amended in Section 100G by striking out the words “two thousand” and inserting in place thereof the following:-
“$7,500”
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the recipients of a death benefit under Section 100A of Chapter 32 shall also receive a reasonable amount, not to exceed $7,5000, for funeral and burial expenses. The state board of retirement shall adopt regulations to administer said benefit.
