An Act reducing the sales tax to 5%..

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 2 of chapter 64H of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking the words “6.25 per cent” and inserting in place thereof the words “5.6 per cent”.

SECTION 2. Section 2 of said chapter 64H, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking the words “6.25 per cent” and inserting in place thereof the words “5 per cent”.

SECTION 3. Section 2 of Chapter 64I of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking the words “6.25 per cent” and inserting in place thereof the words “5.6 per cent”.

SECTION 4. Section 2 of said chapter 64I, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking the words “6.25 per cent” and inserting in place thereof the words “5 per cent”.

SECTION 5.  Section 1 of this act shall take effect on August 1, 2013.

SECTION 6.  Section 2 of this act shall take effect on August 1, 2014.

SECTION 7.  Section 3 of this act shall take effect on August 1, 2013.

SECTION 8.  Section 4 of this act shall take effect on August 1, 2014.
