An Act authorizing the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance to lease or sell the National Guard armory in the city of Worcester.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding sections 40E to 40J, inclusive, of chapter 7 of the General Laws, the commissioner of capital asset management and maintenance may enter into agreements for the lease or sale of the former National Guard Armory in the city of Worcester to Veteran’s Inc. to accommodate the expansion of services for the needs of current and returning services members and their families. 

The parcel was conveyed to the commonwealth by deed dated December 9, 1907 and recorded in the Worcester district registry of deeds in book 1870, page 253 and 254.

The parcels are shown as follows:

(a) Lot No. 1 in Worcester, MA prepared for the Gould Title Company., Date 3/11/10, Scale 1”=40’:

Beginning at a point on the Westerly side of Grove street where it is interested by the northerly line of said Grove street where it is intersected by the northerly line of a street extending from said Grove street to Salisbury Street,

Thence running n3°30’e a distance of 235 feet,

Thence turning and running n86°15’w a distance of 100 feet,

Thence turning and running s13°30’w a distance of 67 feet,

Thence turning and running s43°30’w a distance of 104.9 feet,

Thence turning and running s42°52’35”e a distance of 129.58 feet,

Thence turning and running s85°30’e a distance of 85 feet to the point of the beginning

(b) Lot No. 2 in Worcester, MA prepared for the Gould Title Company., Date 3/26/10, Scale 1”=40’:

Beginning at the westerly line of Grove Street and the Northeasterly corner of present land of State Armory thence s86°30e a distance of 100 feet

Thence turning and running s55°02’13”e a distance of  20.29 feet,

Thence turning and running s3°30’w a distance of 60.50 feet,

Thence turning and running n86°30’w a distance of 116.32 feet,

Thence turning and running n3°30’e a distance of 72.56 feet to the point of the beginning

The commissioner of capital asset management and maintenance may further define the premises subject to lease or other agreement.
