An Act to create an annual Service and Volunteerism Day.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Chapter 6 of the General Laws, as so appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after section 15PPPPP the following section:-

The governor shall annually issue a proclamation setting apart the Thursday of National Volunteer Week in April as Massachusetts Service and Volunteerism Day, to honor and recognize the important contributions that corps members and volunteers make across the Commonwealth every year, and recommending that it be observed in an appropriate manner by the people.
