An Act requiring equal benefits for all new parents.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 105D of chapter 149 of the 2010 Official Edition of the general laws is hereby amended by adding after the period in line 14, the following language:-

"An employer that offers benefits to an employee on maternity leave for the birth of a child shall offer the same benefits to an employee on maternity leave for the adoption of a child. An employer that offers benefits to an employee on paternity leave for the birth of a child shall offer the same benefits to an employee on paternity leave for the adoption of a child."
