The committee on Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy to whom was referred the (accompanied by bill, Senate, No. 1611) of Anthony W. Petruccelli and Carolyn C. Dykema for legislation relative to the qualification of inspectors of wire and assist nspectors of wire employed by a city or town, reports recommending that the accompanying bill (Senate, No. 2210).

An Act relative to the qualification of inspectors of wire and assistant inspectors of wire employed by a city or town.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 1A of Chapter 141 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting at the end thereof the following new paragraphs:-
Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, every inspectors of wires, deputy inspector of wires and assistant inspector of wires, as defined under Section 32 of Chapter 166 of the General Laws, shall complete a yearly continuing education program, which shall include the review and interpretation of electrical codes and related codes, rules and regulations.
The state board of examiners of electricians shall promulgate rules and regulations for the implementation and requirements of continuing education for inspectors of wires.
