Tarr and Ann-Margaret Ferrante (with the approval of the mayor and city council) for legislation to authorize Cary Gould of the city of Gloucester to take the examination for appointment as a police officer in the city notwithstanding the maximum age requirement.  Public Service.  [Local Approval Received.]

An Act authorizing Cary Gould to take the civil service examination for appointment as a police officer in the city of Gloucester notwithstanding the maximum age requirement.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding chapter 31 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary regulating the maximum age of applicants for appointment to the position of a police officer in the city of Gloucester, Cary Gould of the city of Gloucester shall be eligible to take the next open, competitive examination for appointment as a police officer in the city of Gloucester and, if Cary Gould meets all other requirements, he shall be eligible for certification and appointment to that position.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
