In the Year Two Thousand Fourteen

An Act authorizing the change of use of a certain parcel of land in the town of Adams.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special rule to the contrary, the General Court shall remove from the protections of Article 97 of the Massachusetts State Constitution the following described property:
A portion of Renfrew Park containing 1,842 square feet of land, more or less, and located at the intersection of Route 8 and Friend Street in Adams to allow for the disposition for other than open space and recreational purposes and uses, including, but not limited to, right of way and highway purposes and uses accessory thereto, as such disposition may also be authorized by the Adams Town Meeting,
SECTION 2. The Town shall dedicate a portion of a parcel of Town land containing 2,500 square feet, more or less, along the proposed extension of the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail, as depicted on a plan labeled “Adams Ashuwillticook Rail Trail Preliminary ROW Plan,” and identified as UR-1, for open space and recreational purposes.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
