In the Year Two Thousand Fourteen

An Act relative to the positions of clerk and treasurer of the Wareham Fire District.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 71 of chapter 48 of the General Laws or any other general law or special law to the contrary, the positions of clerk and treasurer of the Wareham Fire District shall be appointed positions. Said clerk and treasurer shall be appointed by the prudential committee of the Wareham Fire District.
SECTION 2. An elected clerk or elected treasurer holding office upon the effective date of this act may continue in that office for the remainder of the unexpired term .
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
