An Act increasing accountability of DESE contracts.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 15 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following subsection:-

1U.  Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, neither the Commissioner nor any designee shall enter into any contract for the development or submission of any application for funding from the federal government of the United States unless and until the contract is approved by a vote of the board following written notice to the board of the contents of the contract and a fair opportunity for deliberation on the approval or disapproval of such contract.
