An Act relative to adult family homes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 71 of chapter 111 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, in line 5, after the words “a rest home” the following:- “, adult family home,”; and

in line 22, after the words “rest home” the following:- “, adult family home,”; and

in line 74, after the words “rest home” the following:- “, adult family home,”; and

in line 80, after the words “rest home” the following:- “, adult family home,”; and

in line 86, after the words “rest home” the following:- “, adult family home,”; and

in line 121, after the words “rest home” the following:- “, adult family home,”; and

in line 128, after the words “rest home” the following:- “, adult family home,”; and

in line 134, after the words “rest home” the following:- “, adult family home,”; and

in line 138, after the words “rest home” the following:- “, adult family home,”; and

by inserting, in line 155, after the word “supervision.” the following:-

“An adult family home is defined as an institution where no more than 4 adults not related to the licensee reside in which care, treatment or service above the level of room and board but not including nursing care are provided to persons residing in the home as a primary function of the place.”; and

in line 170, after the words “rest home” the following:- “, adult family home,”; and

in line 173, after the words “rest home” the following:- “, adult family home,”; and

in line 211, after the words “nursing home” the following:- “, adult family home,”; and

in line 266, after the words “rest home” the following:- “, adult family home,”; and

in line 234, after the words “rest home” the following:- “, adult family home,”.

SECTION 2.  Section 72 of chapter 111 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting, in line 2, after the words “rest homes” the following:- “, adult family homes,”; and

in line 6, after the words “rest homes” the following:- “, adult family homes,”; and

in line 20, after the words “rest homes” the following:- “, adult family homes,”; and

in line 25, after the words “rest homes” the following:- “, adult family homes,”; and

in line 37, after the words “rest homes” the following:- “, adult family homes,”; and

in line 41, after the words “rest homes” the following:- “, adult family homes,”;
