An Act relative to the stewardship council of the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 2 of chapter 21 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in line1, the words “under the control of” and inserting in place thereof the words:-  oversight of.

SECTION 2.  Said section 2 of chapter 21, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 2, the word “13” and inserting in place thereof the word:- 9.

SECTION 3.  Said section 2 of chapter 21, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 3, the word “7” and inserting in place thereof the word:- 6.

SECTION 4.  Section 2A of chapter 21, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line1, the word “11” and inserting in place thereof the word:- 7.

SECTION 5.  Said section 2A of chapter 21, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in lines 2-5, the words “that 5 members shall reside within the urban parks district defined in section 33 of chapter 92, at least one of whom shall be a resident of the city of Boston, and”.

SECTION 6.  Said section 2A of chapter 21, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in lines 6 and 7, the words “except as provided herein”.

SECTION 7.  Section 2C of chapter 21, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 2, the words “once a month” and inserting in place thereof the words:- 8 times per year.

SECTION 8.  Said section 2C of Chapter 21, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in lines 2-4, the words “and secretary, and shall make the appointments required to be made in the manner provided”.

SECTION 9.  Said section 2C of Chapter 21, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out the third and fourth sentences.

SECTION 10.  Said section 2C of Chapter 21, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out the second paragraph.

SECTION 11.  Section 2G of chapter 21, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 1 and 2, the word “strategy” and inserting in place thereof the word:- report.

SECTION 12.  Section 2G of chapter 21, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 2, the words “capital planning” and inserting in place thereof the words:- annual budget.

SECTION 13.  Said section 2G of chapter 21, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 3, the word “strategies” and inserting in place thereof the word:- reports.

SECTION 14.  Said section 2G of chapter 21, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 3, the word “annually” and inserting in place thereof the word:- biennially.

SECTION 15.  Said section 2G of chapter 21, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting after the words “Secretary of”, in line 5, the following words:- Energy and.

SECTION 16.  Said section 2G of Chapter 21, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out the third sentence.

SECTION 17.  Said section 3 of Chapter 21, as amended by section 31 of chapter 68 of the acts of 2011, is hereby further amended by striking out, in lines 9 and 10, the words “with the approval of the stewardship council”.

SECTION 18.  Section 3A of chapter 21 is hereby repealed.

SECTION 19.   Section 3C of Chapter 21, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the first sentence and inserting in place thereof:- The commissioners shall consult with the stewardship council in preparation of the annual budget.
