An Act relative to eligibility for coverage.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, an individual who is employed in a social services program as defined in section 1 of chapter 118G shall be an “Eligible individual” as that term is defined in section 1 of chapter 176J and in section 1 of chapter 176Q regardless of whether or not the individual is seeking individual coverage to replace an employer-sponsored health plan for which the individual is eligible and which provides coverage that is at least actuarially equivalent to minimum creditable coverage.
