An Act to increase health insurer transparency.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Subsection (b) of section 6 of chapter 176J of the General Laws, as most recently inserted by chapter 288 of the acts of 2010, is hereby amended by inserting at the end thereof the following:

(b½) The commissioner shall make all information submitted to the division pursuant to the provisions of subsection (b) publicly available on a website in an easily readable and understandable format on an annual basis. 

SECTION 2. Subsection (j) of section 11 of chapter 176J of the General Laws, as most recently amended by section 177 of chapter 224 of the acts of 2012, is hereby amended by inserting at the end thereof the following: 

(k) The commissioner shall make the annual report required under the provisions of subsection (j) publicly available on a website in an easily readable and understandable format.

SECTION 3. Section 21 of chapter 176O of the General Laws, as most recently amended by section 40 of chapter 288 of the acts of 2010, is hereby amended by inserting at the end thereof the following:

(e) The commissioner shall annually make all information submitted to the division pursuant to the provisions of subsections (a) to (d) publicly available on a website in an easily readable and understandable format.
