An Act relative to welfare reform.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Chapter 18 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 official edition, is hereby amended by inserting after section 29 the following sections:-

              Section 29A. The department of transitional assistance shall

(a) require that any electronic benefit transfer card issued to an eligible recipient shall bear such recipients photograph on the face thereof;

(b) require any retailer that accepts electronic benefit transfer cards to post the toll free fraud hotline provided by the department;

(c) List on each application and renewal form items prohibited from purchase with electronic benefit transfer cards.
