An Act relative to the calculation of alimony payments.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Sub-section (c) of section 53 of chapter 208 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 official edition, is hereby amended by striking clause (2) in its entirety and inserting in place thereof the following:--
"(2) the amount that each party is deemed to contribute for child support under the child support guidelines. For purposes of this sub-section, the amount to be excluded from the income of the child support payor shall be the amount said payor is ordered to contribute for child support or the amount the payor is deemed to contribute for child support, whichever is greater. The amount to be excluded from the child support recipient’s income is the amount said recipient is deemed to contribute for child support”
