An Act regulating the use of buprenorphine in opioid dependence treatment.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1: Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the department of public health shall promulgate regulations relative to the use of buprenorphine and its variants in the treatment of opioid dependence. Said regulations shall include, but not be limited to: requiring prescribing entities to conduct routine toxicology screens of clients, pill call-backs, maximum take-home dosages, and any other regulations deemed necessary to limit diversion of buprenorphine and its variants.
