In the Year Two Thousand Thirteen

An Act relative to the certification of assessors.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 41 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “years,” in line 12, the following:- who shall be state-certified or state-licensed as defined by section 174 of chapter 112.
SECTION 2. Section 24 of said chapter 41, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “law” in line 4, the following:- and shall be state-certified or state-licensed as defined by section 174 of chapter 112.
SECTION 3. Said section 24 of said chapter 41, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting at the end thereof the following sentence:- No assessor may assess property in any city or town in which they own property.
