In the Year Two Thousand Fourteen

An Act relative to transparency in political contributions by corporations.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 8 of chapter 55 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the second paragraph and inserting in place thereof the following paragraph:-
No person or persons, no political committee, or in its behalf, other than a political committee organized on behalf a ballot question, whose actions have been approved by a two thirds majority of corporate stockholders and whose total contributions and expenses do exceed fifteen thousand dollars, shall solicit or receive from such corporation or such holders of stock any gift, payment, expenditure, contribution or promise to give, pay, expend or contribute for any such purpose.
