In the One Hundred and Eighty-Ninth General Court

An Act to address the need for additional resources for the development of affordable housing for low-income seniors.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Subsection (a) of section 3 of chapter 121D of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 15-16, the words “to senior citizens and”
SECTION 2. Subsection (a) of section (3) of chapter 121D, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting after clause 8 the following clause:-
(9) Development of affordable housing for households with one or more persons over the age of sixty two and having household incomes under 80% of the Metropolitan Area Median Income as determined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The fund shall expend for this purpose not less than 10% of annual expenditures from the fund or $6 million per year, whichever is greater.
