An Act amending spousal support payments.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 35A. Chapter 208 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after section 35, the following new section:—

After a hearing had upon its own motion, or at the time a support order is issued or modified or as a result of a complaint for contempt due to failure of spousal support payments, and upon a particular finding of reasonable necessity to assure timely and consistent payments, the court may make a finding that future spousal support payments may be made through wage assignment, account garnishment or other means available to the department of revenue.
