An Act relative to the use of false identification for the purpose of purchasing alcohol.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 1:
Amends Part I, Title XX, Chapter 138, Section 34B by striking “shall” and inserting in place thereof “may” immediately preceding ‘be guilty of a misdemeanor’ in the paragraph beginning ‘any person who transfers’.
Amends Part I, Title XX, Chapter 138, Section 34B by inserting after the phrase, “for not more than three months” the following:
Any person who has not attained age twenty-one and who makes use of a false identification card or license or uses the identification card or motor vehicle license of another for the purpose of purchasing alcohol or gaining access to an establishment for the purpose of purchasing alcohol may have his license suspended for 90 days for a first offense and until he has attained age twenty-one for a second offense.
