An Act relative to flood storage.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any general special law to the contrary, the Boston Metropolitan Area Planning Council shall conduct a study of potential flood storage at the site of the former Metropolitan District Commission’s Skating Rink located adjacent to the Route 2 Eastbound Lake Street off-ramp bordering the towns of Arlington and Belmont.

Within one-hundred-and-eighty (180) days of the passage of this Act, the Boston Metropolitan Planning Area Council shall submit a report to the Clerks of the House and Senate detailing a plan concerning implementation of such study.

SECTION 2.  A sum of one-hundred-thousand dollars ($100,000) shall be appropriate for the purpose of funding the study required by Section 1.
