An Act establishing a reporting system for drug overdoses.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 12A of Chapter 112 of the Massachusetts General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 official addition, is hereby amended by inserting at the end thereof the following:-

In cases of physician examination or treatment of a person with injuries resulting from opiate, illegal, or illicit drug overdose, a hospital, community health center or clinic shall report the de-identified information on a monthly basis to the local chief of police and the office of the district attorney in a manner to be determined in conjunction with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health
