An Act regarding sharps and medications.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general law, or special law to the contrary, all retailers, medical offices, hospitals and veterinarian clinics, and other providers that dispense sharps to the general public be responsible to provide a sharps collection and disposal program at their locations at no additional cost to the general public. The pharmaceutical manufacturers shall be responsible for funding collection sites for medication waste.
