An Act to improve access to pharmacy services in hospitals.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 1: Subsection (a) of Section 24B ½of chapter 112 of the General laws, as appearing in the 2012 official edition, is hereby amended by inserting after each instance of “supervising physician” the words “, attending physician or attending physician’s designee in the hospital setting”.
Section 2: Subsection (c) of Section 24B½of Chapter 112 of the General laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by adding after the word “designee;” the following “provided, that a patient’s attending physician or attending physician’s designee may refer a patient to a pharmacist practicing under a collaborative practice agreement overseen by a supervising physician whose scope of practice is in that area of medicine;”
