An Act relative to exempting home appliance service and repair technicians from certain provisions of the Massachusetts Plumbing Code.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Chapter 142 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following section:-

Section 23. Notwithstanding any general or special law, rule or regulation to the contrary, certified home appliance service technicians may make plumbing connections or disconnections from existing plumbing lines in accordance with repairing or replacing appliances. The division of professional licensure shall promulgate rules and regulations that provide for the licensure and certification process for home appliance service technicians.
