An Act relative to the safe disposal of prescription drugs.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Chapter 94C of the general laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:-
Section 50. (a) An ultimate user who has lawfully obtained a prescription drug through a written prescription in accordance with this chapter may, without being registered, deliver the prescription drug to a pharmacy for the purpose of disposal of the controlled substance.
(b) A pharmacy shall provide a receptacle for disposal of prescription drugs pursuant to this section. The department shall promulgate regulations to implement the purposes of this section.
