An Act to prevent deaths by fire.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 146 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting at the end of thereof the following section:-
“Section XX. Effective January 1, 2015, all newly constructed one and two family residential dwellings shall include an automatic standalone fire sprinkler system installed in accordance with NFPA-13D and MGL 146, Section 81.
SECTION 2. For the purposes of this Act, an “automatic standalone fire sprinkler system”, is a system where the above ground piping only serves fire sprinklers.
